Who are We out there?

C3 Engineering Technology Inc. was incorporated in 1989. Originally as Caliber Controls Inc. the company installed and serviced HVAC building automation, HVAC mechanical, and HVAC control systems in commercial buildings.

Later the company became a consulting firm in HVAC controls and mechanical systems as Caliber Controls Consulting . In early 2015, the name was changed to C3 Engineering Technology Inc. to reflect the company’s professional permit to practice in Alberta in the design fields of Controls, Consulting, and Commissioning of building HVAC systems. 

C3 is a licensed professional company as per the Engineering Act of Alberta through the Alberta Society of Science and Engineering Technology Professionals of Alberta (ASET). 

Cliff Swain B.A., P.Tech.(Eng.), Power Engineer,is a professional engineering technologist, owner and main principal of C3 Engineering Technology with over 30 years in the controls, HVAC, commissioning, and Mechanical industries. 

Cliiff is a graduate of two technologies at NAIT, power engineer graduate SAIT,  and University of Alberta graduate.  Cliff began his mechanical career in the petrochemical and pipeline industry and has since been in the HVAC industry for over 30 years.

Our consulting firm knows buildings in Canada, particularly Alberta, and is considered by some, a specialist in the field of building automation, mechanical retrofit, commissioning & controls. With more than 30 years of Alberta projects and management experience, we know how the Canadian environment affects buildings.

We believe in giving back to the communities locally, nationally, and often internationally. A percentage of personal and company incomes are regularly donated to various charitable organizations and those providing good community spirit.
